In line with our leadership, We believe the choice of choosing great leaders is learned from a very early age.

We model this annually in our electoral process where prefects are chosen by their fellow pupils after a rigorous season where they deliver their manifestos and campaign for votes.

The electoral process is transparent with international observers and SBS INEC officials present. In the end, all the children accept the choice of the majority. Rigging & other strategies to influence voters’ choice is not allowed. We embrace our student council and support them in leading the rest of the school.

Student council responsibilities consist of: Head Boy, Head Girl, Social Prefect, Sport Prefect, Library Prefect, Communication Prefect, and Technology Prefect. Each of the candidate’s pledges projects which have to be delivered by the end of their tenor with us before they leave for secondary school. SBS is a democratic community and our children go away knowing that in the future they may be called to participate in an election and they are prepared.
